I believe that warmth, sympathy & Empathy and understanding suffering of a patient by doctor, outweighs the surgeon’s knife or the physicians drug. And I believe that I am not just to treat a fever chart, a cancerous growth, but a sick human being in totality. And I preach that preventing disease is preferable to cure and if it happens, diagnosing it correctly as early as possible is mainstay of good healthcare. I am strong advocate of research in healthcare, academic contribution and fulfilling social responsibility on wider scale in medical field at maximum possible by a physician. I secured third position in Federal Board (Pre medical) and was awarded President of Pakistan, Gold medal for securing first position in my College. That enabled me get admission in Army Medical College (AMC). AMC is one of the Pakistan’s top medical institutes, from where I graduated as MBBS doctor with flying colours with many Gold and silver medals and many certificates of Honour to my credit. I embarked on my post graduation / specialization journey in Military Hospitals where I learnt skills and enhanced clinical acumen. I did post graduation in medicine (FCPS) and Pulmonology (MCPS). To further enhance my knowledge, I added foreign UK (MRCGP) and US qualifications (USMLE). After serving Army for fifteen years in various institutes and hospitals, I chose to continue my career as private clinician in Pakistan and serve my motherland and ailing humanity. Smile of treated patients and prayers of those cured after my treatments, gives me huge sense of achievement. No one field of medicine is able to cure every illness. That made me consider seriously to add Alternative Medicine as additional arm, to widen my therapeutic menu and spectrum. I added Homeopathy in my practise for those grey areas illnesses, where at times I felt handicapped either due to limited results or more side effects, or both. This bi handed approach enabled me to pick benefits of one treatment over hazards of other and chose safer approach for my patients. I became Member Alliance of Registered Homeopath MARH (UK) and FBI Hom. More than five decades of family history of alternative medicines helped me get more experience and better grasp in this area of medicines. Correct diagnosis is key to successful treatment and for that advanced state of the art Diagnostic Tools are mandatory part of modern healthcare. I founded a state of the Art Imaging and lab diagnostic centre all under one roof for 24/7 services, in Islamabad in 2005, named Islamabad Diagnostic Centre (IDC). In just 14 years, IDC today is Pakistan’s leading chain of imaging and lab diagnostic centre brand with 43 branches spread in 10 cities of Pakistan. IDC has created more than 600 jobs, serving over a million patients with more than two million lab and radiology tests, annually. I am humbled to be chosen to Pay back to my country by establishing three stare of the art Labs in underprivileged District HQ Hospitals of Attock, Jehlum and Chakwal, through PPP relations, where IDC offered highly subsidized services to Ministry of Health, Punjab which enabled Government to offer free of cost tests to the patients. IDC is not only helping patients and hospitals and doing CSR activities but actively contributing in Medical specialist education and training. IDC is recognized for FCPS radiology, most apex qualification in radiology in Pakistan. IDC is constitutional part of ISRA university helping graduate studies, contributing research in various diagnostic fields with Comsats, Allam Iqbal and Quid e Azam University. I have the honour of holding Patents for two medical inventions, one related to measuring pressures in failing Heart and other to deal with dreadful effects of high altitude hypothermia and hypoxia. As Acknowledgement, I was awarded COAS commendation certificate on these innovative tasks. I am thankful to Allah for granting me an opportunity where I have a little bit contributed and paid back to my motherland through my own medical field. This includes my academic, research, clinical diagnostic, health care and CSR roles, along with jobs creation in IDC, in addition to my direct personal clinical services of 26 years.
