Our diagnostic services are divided into three departments: Radiology, the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory and the Pathology Laboratory. In the Radiology section we have provided detailed explanations of each available test. These descriptions will help you prepare for them physically and mentally. Each test description walks you through the entire procedure and explains what to expect afterwards. We have endeavored to provide you as much relevant and useful information as possible to make your experience more comfortable when you walk through our doors. The section on the Cardiac Catheterisation Lab we have covered the frequently asked questions on the most commonly performed procedures. The Pathology section which is located on the ground floor, is run by Sajid Khan who is happy to answer any questions you have. In this section we have provided a full list of the tests we do and the expected turnaround time and their prices. Services offered at South City Hospital Laboratory a. CT Scan Performed by highly qualified and experienced technologists, under the supervision of senior most Radiologists in Pakistan. b. MRI MRI uses a strong magnetic field and radio waves to create detailed images of the organs and tissues within the body. c. Ultrasound All types of conventional ultrasounds, Color Doppler, TVS & 4-D USG and ultrasound guided procedures. d. X -Ray X-rays are types of electromagnetic radiation probably most well-known for their ability to see through a person's skin and reveal images of the bones beneath it. e. Fistulogram A Fistulogram is a special x-ray procedure. It uses contrast (x-ray dye) to look at the blood flow in your fistula or graft (dialysis access). This procedure can check to see if it is blocked or if there is any narrowing (stenosis). f. Exercise Tolerance Test (ETT) An Exercise Tolerance Test (ETT), through the use of exercise treadmill/bike testing, can be useful for identifying early signs of coronary artery disease. Although a resting Electrocardiogram (ECG) can detect and demonstrate a number of abnormalities, the presence of a normal resting ECG does not rule out the possibility of significant coronary artery disease. g. Breast Screening Breast cancer screening is the medical screening of asymptomatic, apparently healthy women for breast cancer in an attempt to achieve an earlier diagnosis. The assumption is that early detection will improve outcomes. h. Doppler A Doppler ultrasound is a noninvasive test that can be used to estimate the blood flow through your blood vessels by bouncing high-frequency sound waves (ultrasound) off circulating red blood cells. A regular ultrasound uses sound waves to produce images, but can't show blood flow.
