Non-invasive Body Contouring: Q And A With Dr. Afsheen Bilal

Q.1. What is meant by non-invasive body-contouring?

Nonsurgical body contouring is also known as nonsurgical fat reduction. There are a variety of nonsurgical fat reduction procedures. These procedures reduce or remove stubborn pockets of fat to contour and shape different areas of the body.

Q.2. What are the different procedures used for body contouring?

There currently are four different kinds of procedures used for noninvasive body contouring: cryolipolysis, radiofrequency, high-intensity focused ultrasound, and laser therapy. 

Q.3. What are the advantages of opting non-invasive body contouring?

Well, the number one advantage is that fat contouring can be therapeutically helpful in patients of osteoarthritis. Where surgery can’t be performed, this is helpful.

Secondly, this is also beneficial for those people who have pockets of fats such as belly fat that are too stubborn to remove from exercise and dieting. These fat pockets can be effectively removed with the help of non-invasive body contouring.

Q.4. What is skin tightening and how is it done?

Now we come to the second part of body contouring which is skin tightening. Aging, stress, excessive dieting can cause the skin to lose. Loose skin can be tightening by various devices. These devices promote natural collagen production in the body. Some collagen inducing devices include, “HIFU, high intensity focused ultrasound” and radiofrequency.

Q.5. Is body contouring procedure painful?

Well, the procedure is mainly painless. The patients will feel a uniform heating sensation, that is it. However, removal of fat pockets can cause some discomfort due to the freezing temperatures. Having said that, these procedures are generally painless and don’t require anaesthesia.
