According to the numbers, there has been a recent spike in COVID-19 cases in the country, with the positivity ratio climbing to 3.5% for the first time in three months. Around 541 new cases were reported on June 29, 2022, across the country.

The rise in COVID cases should not be taken lightly, as it could be the start of a new wave of the virus. However, this does not mean we should start to panic. We can all stay safe from the pandemic by following the necessary precautions.

How To Stay Safe From The Recent Surge In COVID-19 Cases

Following are the necessary SOPs and precautions you should follow to protect yourself and your loved ones from being affected by COVID-19:

  • Get vaccinated immediately, if not already, as non-vaccinated people pose a severe threat to themselves and those around them. You are also advised to take booster shots of the COVID-19 vaccine.
  • Wear a mask when you go outside to stop the spread of the virus
  • Practice social distancing and avoid overcrowded spaces and gatherings
  • Wash your hands regularly
  • Use a hand sanitizer
  • Avoid handshakes
  • If you have to cough or sneeze, use a tissue paper
