8 Great Habits to Adopt for a Better 2019

Forget the fact that you don’t have time; forget that you are so busy that you would have to ignore yourself (again!). Prioritize yourself and your wellbeing above everything else, and it is important to get this thought through your brain and act on it.

You don’t have to do everything at once; try tackling two tasks a month, and you would be ahead of schedule in no time.

1-See your dentist:

Get into the habit of seeing your dentist once every six months. Deep cleaning of the teeth can save you from loads of dental problems (and dental bills) later on.

2-Intermittent Fasting:

Instead of crash dieting, try the technique of intermittent fasting for more optimized weight loss and physical wellbeing. Intermittent fasting improves metabolism, boosts the immune system, strengthens digestive system among other benefits. It also removes toxins from the body and clears the mind. It is favorable for people who are trying to lose weight.

3-Find more time for your hobby:

In the midst of your busy schedule, try finding time for things that you love. Dedicate an hour or 30 minutes of your time for your hobby or any activity that you are into. Painting, knitting, writing, gardening—let your creativity take over.

All work and no play can be tedious for the mind and the body; ensure that you are taking adequate breaks for yourself from work. It will de-stress you and increase your productivity.

4-See a therapist:

Mental health needs are just as important as physical health needs, if not more. Start seeing a therapist to help you cope with stresses in life. Even you don’t have stresses that warrant seeing a therapist, see one to improve your mental health.

5-Get fresh produce:

Go visit the local farmer’s market instead of the grocery store to get your supply of fruits and vegetables. Food at the farmer’s market is fresher and thus full of nutrients. Not only does it taste better, but it is healthier and cheaper as well. Learn how to cook with these vegetables and notice how much better they taste when fresh.

6-Avoid processed food:

Despite their convenience and long shelf-life, packaged and processed food is full of harmful ingredients that ruin health. They are full of trans-fat and sugar, which not only cause weight gain but are also a cause of type II diabetes.

7-Ride a bike instead of driving:

You will not just save gas money, but you will also save gym money by using a bicycle instead of a car. Riding a bike is a time-efficient way of getting exercise in a busy schedule. Who says you need a traditional workout to stay healthy? You can easily go to work on your bicycle or answer emails on the treadmill by using this technique.

8-Get you checkup done:

Be it your mammogram, or your pap smear, schedule them early in the year and get them out of the way. They may seem like tedious tasks, but they can prove lifesaving.
