Aesthetic gynecology is a branch of medicine that allows women to correct their body parts. This type of procedure is most commonly required due to damage resulting from childbirth, defects of the intimate parts, discomfort during sexual intercourse or dissatisfaction with the appearance of these body parts.

Dr. Misbah Malik is one of the best Gynecologists in Lahore. She did her specialisation from Lahore General Hospital and is doing private practise for 20 years.

In her session with oladoc, she talks about cosmetic/ aesthetic gynecology and vaginal Laser treatments. She has covered key areas like the side effects and recovery time associated with these treatments. She also shares her thoughts about gynecologic endoscopic Surgeries.

Q.1. What is vaginal laser treatment?

I would like to use this platform to enhance awareness about certain aesthetic gynecological issues specifically vaginal laser treatment. Surprisingly, vaginal laser treatment is pretty common but women hesitate to talk about it due to some cultural barriers. With advancing age, hormonal changes, childbirth, intimacy issues between a husband and wife are also affected.

Vaginal laser treatment is a vaginal tightening treatment done without any surgery or medication. There are shots given depending upon the individual patient. Anyone patient may require shots between 2 to 4 shots.

In addition to this, there are some peeling methods that are done for vaginal rejuvenation.

Q.2. What is cosmetic/aesthetic gynecology?

In cosmetic gynecology, we treat female genitalia that is darkly pigmented via peeling. If the vaginal lips are saggy and have lost their volume, peeling can be done.

There are many other cosmetic procedures that vary patient to patient.

Q.3. What sort of patients visits you for laser treatments?

Women who are sexually active and have problems with intimacy and sexual pleasure due to vaginal loosening. Women who are not sexually active can also reach out to me for any vaginal rejuvenation services.

I also treat issues related to vaginal prolapse, urinary incontinence and other aesthetic procedures.

We prescribe a rest period of 1 to 2 days for the patients. They should also refrain from any sexual activity for 3 to 4 days. In addition, a healing cream is also given. And that’s it. You don’t need to take any sick days or be bedridden. It’s a very feasible procedure.
