5-Minute Tasks That Are Sure to Make You Healthier

More often than not, we say no to a fitness routine because we are short on time. However, a busy lifestyle should not deter us from being a healthier version of ourselves. After all, nutritionists would tell you that a healthy body is conducive to a healthy mind. Here are some small and less time-consuming tasks that can be incorporated into your daily routine for a healthier lifestyle.

1- Go for a walk:

If you feel stressed or frustrated, then a short walk can work wonders. It can be worked in your schedule at the start or the end of the day. Sometimes, the answer is simply a bit of fresh air. It will not only clear your mind but also put things in perspective.

Walking will help you organize your thoughts, process through problems and combat stress. This enjoyable pastime requires zero preparation and puts no strain on the body. Next time you feel overwhelmed at work, give it a shot and see the difference.

2- Stretch out at your desk:

If you don’t have the time, or the shoes, to go for a walk, then try stretching out at your desk. This is especially beneficial for people who sit for long periods. A few eagle stretches, side stretches and shoulder stretches at your desk can help you improve your posture and avoid muscle stiffness. It will also help improve your mood and energy levels.

3- Make oats overnight:

Prepare your breakfast the night before. Most of us are in a rush to get out of the house in the morning, and prepping protein-rich breakfast like oats, beforehand will save you some precious time. Moreover, it will ensure that you don’t skip breakfast and thus overeat in the rest of the day.

It is beneficial for the body to consume a breakfast rich in protein within an hour of waking up—thus having a prepped breakfast will ensure that you maintain muscle and blood sugar.

4- Drink water before every meal:

Staying hydrated is important, we all know that. But specifically drinking more water before meals can prove healthier. Studies show that water before meals helps to lose weight by reducing the number of calories one eats. Moreover, water between meals helps the body feel fuller, reduces cravings and boosts energy.

5- Drink herbal tea:

If you want instant de-stressing, then herbal tea might be your answer. Herbal tea is enriched with antioxidants, thus combating the oxidative stress in the body. Herbal tea can also address specific health issues that one might be facing. Because it is rich in antioxidants, it also deals with signs of aging and rids the body of toxins. Some herbs can also help in weight reduction and fat mobilization.

Try drinking a cup of herbal tea in the evening or before bedtime to help you get a good night’s sleep.
