Caffeine, one of the active ingredients in green tea is a known stimulant. Even though Green tea does not contain as much caffeine as coffee but it has just enough to produce the required boost without having to deal with caffeine’s fidgety effects. In addition to caffeine, it also has the amino acid L-theanine that has a relaxing effect with the ability to increase alertness, which, in combination with caffeine, can increase brain function and help you be more productive. The caffeine also mobilizes fatty acids to produce energy that helps improve physical performance.

Scientists conducted a study back in 2011 where they tested the effect of green tea on an element of Alzheimer’s disease. They studied a particular type of green tea, namely CAGTE (colon available green tea extract).
The study identified that CAGTE was indeed helpful in reducing the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. This helped back up the available research on green tea’s benefits for those at risk of Alzheimer’s. The only drawback of the study was that it tested a high amount of green tea extract, a quantity that ins’t consumed by humans nor should it be. Thus, more in-depth analysis has to be done to show whether lower dosage of green tea can also work in aiding Alzheimer patients.
Green tea also has prominent preventive effects on stress, fatigue, various skin conditions, arthritis, dental cavities, and other medical issues.
