Psychological Disorders in Pakistan: Why Still a Taboo?

A psychological disorder, also often, referred to as a mental disorder, is a pattern of psychological and behavioural symptoms that create disturbance for the person experiencing them. Mental disorders are usually characterized by the patterned distress in occupational, social and personal areas of an individual’s life.

According to Dr. Fariha Naz, just like physical health, mental health should also be prioritized. Mental health provides you with strength, resilience and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances of life. Even though, perceptions have started to change in other countries, Pakistan still has a long way to go.

One of the most silent, deadly and yet the most hardly talked about mental illnesses in Pakistan is depression.
