3 Face Masks for Dry Skin That You Can Make in Your Kitchen!

Dry skin is characterized by a lack of adequate amount of moisture in epidermis, the most superficial layer off the skin. Dry skin is often flaky, rough, and scaly. Elderly individuals are usually have drier skin because as we get older, the amount of natural oils in our skin start to diminish. Basically, dry skin is a skin type that is severely dehydrated. Cold temperatures and low humidity can make matters even worse. In some cases, dry skin is a result of a side effect of a medication or a skin disease. 1- Honey and Coffee Mask:

Coffee is a natural exfoliant and it is also full of antioxidants that fight free radicals. Honey slows down aging and it is extremely hydrating and calming. To make this mask, all you need is 1 teaspoon of ground coffee, 1 teaspoon of honey, and 1 tablespoon of milk. Combine all the ingredients and use the mixture to scrub your face gently. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.

2- Coconut Oil And Honey Mask:

Honey is a very versatile ingredient and it is used in a lot of masks. Honey also has anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. Coconut oil is full of saturated fats that nourish and hydrate skin. Coconut oil also has antimicrobial properties. To make this hydrating mask, simply combine 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and 1 tablespoon of honey. Mix them together and apply the concoction on your face using a clean cosmetic brush. Keep it on for 15 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.

3- Oatmeal and Yogurt Mask:

Yogurt is anti-aging and naturally reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It contains lactic acid that helps to dissolve dead skin and refines pores. Oatmeal is also very soothing. It has saponins that draw out dirt from the pores of the skin. It is also loaded with antioxidants that fight free radical damage. It also contains fat which moisturizes the skin. To make oatmeal and yogurt mask, mix 2 tablespoons of finely ground oats and 2 tablespoons of yogurt. Apply this paste on your skin for 15 minutes. This mask will moisturize your face and even out your skin tone.
