Hair is your crowning glory. Glossy, bouncy, voluminous hair can perk up your whole look. Unfortunately, maintaining hair health can be pretty daunting. Our unhealthy diet, internal stress, environmental stressors, hard water all suck the life out of our hair and make them look dull and lifeless. However, with a little care and attention, you can revive the health of your hair and make it shiny and glossy again. Bouncy, glossy hair looks really chic and can really uplift your whole look. Here are some remedies recommended by doctors for glossy hair.

1- Change Your Shampoo Routine:

Avoid the temptation to shampoo your hair daily. Our hair is lubricated by natural oils and when we shampoo daily we strip our hair of it. This makes our hair brittle, dry, and prone to damage. Try not to shampoo your hair more than thrice a week. Avoid washing your hair with products that contain sodium laureth sulfate as this lathering agent can have adverse effects on your hair. Try to go for a sulfate free alternative instead. Use a conditioner afterward to moisturize your hair. Moisturized hair looks glossy.

2- Diet:

Try to eat hair-friendly foods. For instance, eat foods rich in L-cysteine as they boost the production of keratin, which is a protein required by the hair for growth. Healthier hair looks more lustrous. L-cysteine is found in high protein foods like egg yolks, meat, and dairy. It is also found in plant-based foods such as garlic, onions, brussels sprout, wheat germ, sprouted lentils, oats, and broccoli. Apart from that, eat omega-rich foods such as anchovies, salmon, sardines, and olive oil to hydrate your hair from within. Also incorporate iron-rich foods such as organ meats, legumes, red meat, spinach, and quinoa to keep your hair strong.

3- Oiling:

You must nourish your hair if you want it to look glossy and shiny. Massaging your hair with oil will restore moisture and also supply nourishing nutrients to your hair. An invigorating head massage will stimulate blood flow to the scalp and promote hair growth. A lot of oils can be applied to hair such as mustard oil, olive oil, coconut oil, and black seed oil. You can also mix different oils together to create a powerful blend. Apply oil 2-3 hours before taking a shower so that the oil can penetrate deep within.

4- Egg Mask:

Eggs are also great for hair. The egg yolk is intensely hydrating and it is great for you if your hair is dull. The egg white cleanses hair by removing buildup. Eggs are also full of protein which strengthens hair. To make this mask, all you have to do is whisk an egg in the bowl and apply it on your hair. Leave it on for 15 to 20 minutes and then rinse off with water. You may add some lemon drops if the smell of the egg bothers you. Shampoo afterward if you feel the need.
