Hydrozole cream is a topical antifungal medication composed of hydrocortisone, a corticosteroid and clotrimazole, an antifungal agent. It is used to treat inflammation, swelling, itchiness, and discomfort associated with a wide range of skin conditions such as athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm, and candidal infections, etc.

Hydrozole cream works by preventing the growth of infection-causing organisms and is used to treat fungal infections in both adults and children. Unlike other antifungal products that only target the infection, Hydrozole cream contains Hydrocortisone, which also deals with the itchy irritation caused by the infection, effectively treating both the infection and the accompanying irritation.

Risks and warnings

The risks and warnings associated with Hydrozole cream are:

• Pregnancy:

• Breastfeeding:

• Hypersensitivity:

Patients allergic to Hydrocortisone, Clotrimazole, or any of the ingredients in Hydrozole cream are advised not to use it.

• Hypothalamic Pituitary Adrenal (HPA) Axis Suppression:

Due to the increased absorption of hydrocortisone, which is a corticosteroid, there might be the manifestation of hypercortisolism that happens in Cushing’s syndrome, and reversible hypothalamic pituitary adrenal (HPA) axis suppression. In case any of the symptoms are observed, reduce the frequency of Hydrozole cream’s absorption.

• Visual Disturbances:

Visual disturbances are observed with this cream, such as that seen in glaucoma and cataract.

• In Children:

In children, more absorption of this cream is observed, hence they are more susceptible to adverse effects of it. Long-term usage for children under 12 years of age should be avoided as it can cause adrenal suppression.

• Bacterial or Viral Skin Infections:

Hydrozole cream should not be used in case of any bacterial or viral skin infection (for example; shingles, chicken pox or bacterial lesion). Doing so will not only be ineffective but may also worsen the condition and increase the risk of adverse effects.

• Circulation Problems:

Patients who have problems with circulation shouldn’t use this cream.

How to use Hydrozole Cream 20g?

• Gently apply a thin layer of Hydrozole cream onto the affected area
• Use it up to 2 times daily for 7 days or as directed by your healthcare provider
• Don not use it in large quantities
• Do not use it for more than 7 days unless instructed by your doctor
• If you miss a dose, just use it once again as soon as you remember
• Hydrozole cream is for external use only
• Avoid getting the cream in your eyes
• It should not be used in children under the age of 2 years unless approved by a doctor
• Do not use the cream after the expiration date has passed
