How To Get Tested For Coronavirus In Pakistan

The situation which the whole population was dreading has unfortunately happened and ‘coronavirus in Pakistan’ is not a rumor now and has become a reality. In this time of crisis, it is important to stay calm and composed. Coronavirus in Pakistan has not spread to an extent where the whole country has to shut down which means that there is no need to panic.

Precautionary measures such as self-distancing and social isolation are however still very important. If you or a loved one have started to show any symptoms or you have been exposed to a person who has been declared as a confirmed coronavirus case, then getting tested for the virus is of utmost importance.

Here are a few ways to get tested for coronavirus in Pakistan.

Test centers set up by the Government of Pakistan

The test centers mentioned below only have the authorization to collect samples and send them to the main center. These centers cannot conduct the test themselves

Punjab

For the province of Punjab, three hospitals namely Services Hospital, Lahore, Nishtar Hospital, Multan and Benazir Hospital, Rawalpindi have been authorized to collect samples from suspected cases of coronavirus.

Azad and Jammu Kashmir

For AJK territory, five hospitals have been authorized to collect coronavirus samples for testing purposes.

These include Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahayan Hospital, Muzaffarabad, Abbas Institute of Medical Sciences, Muzaffarabad, Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahayan Hospital, Rawalakot, Divisional Headquarters Hospital, Mirpur, and District Headquarters Hospital, Kotli

Sindh

Since Sindh has been impacted the most with 155 coronavirus cases in total, the government has set up around ten test centers across the whole province. They are the following.

Gilgit Baltistan

For the territory of Gilgit Baltistan, the district health authorities have been made the main contact sources for people who want to get tested for coronavirus in case of suspicion.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa

For the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Police Services Hospital has been made the main point of contact to deal with the coronavirus cases.

Apart from these official test centers, some private labs and hospitals have also started testing for coronavirus. Horizon hospital in Lahore and Hashmanis hospital in Karachi are also offering coronavirus tests at a cheaper price.
