The Dow University Hospital was founded in 2009 as a hospital and a place of learning for medical students and young doctors. The institution is a center of medical research and development in Karachi. The hospital itself is in a five-story building that holds 1000 beds that are available for patients. They also run a charity program called the DUHS Zakat and Donation Project that collects donations from all over the country to fund medical procedures for underprivileged people who cannot pay for themselves.
