Bio
Prof. Dr. Nadeem Hayat Mallick is a highly esteemed cardiologist in Lahore and has been
working at the top of his field for many years now. He has been at the forefront of medical
research and cardiac treatments in Pakistan and has received numerous honors that reflect
this position. He has worked as a doctor, administrator, and teacher and achieved excellence in
all of these roles. The Punjab Institute of Cardiology flourished under his watch and he has
always paid great attention to his students.
Qualifications
Prof. Dr. Nadeem Hayat Mallick has acquired a large number of certifications over the years
starting with his M.B.B.S in 1983 from the University of Punjab. He then went on to get a
fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians in both London and Edinburgh while also
becoming a member of both. Dr. Nadeem Hayat Mallick then also completed a fellowship with
the American College of Cardiology and one with College of Physicians & Surgeons Pakistan
(cardiology and interventional cardiology, thus being certified in three different countries. Some
of these fellowships were completed as late as 2019, showing that even after all these years he
is still willing to learn and expand his understanding of the field.
Experience
Prof. Dr. Nadeem Hayat Mallick has accumulated a whopping 35 years of experience in
medicine, this includes working as a doctor, professor and the head of an institution. He has
taught at King Edward Medical University, Allama Iqbal University and the Punjab Institute of
cardiology. Prof. Dr. Nadeem Hayat Mallick has also practiced at all of these locations as well
as at the London Chest Hospital in Wales. He remained the head of the Punjab Institute of
Cardiology for four years from 2015-2019 but has now retired from the position.
Activism
Dr. Nadeem Hayat Mallick worked at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology for 15 years, where
treatments are often heavily subsidised or even free depending on the patients financial
background. He has also been regularly appearing at conferences and in interviews to educate
the public regarding heart issues and how to prevent them. He has advocated strongly against
tobacco and drug use, citing them as one of the leading causes of heart disease.
