What Experts Say
Paracetamol works mainly in the brain and spinal cord to block pain signals and reset the body temperature control center. It does not have the strong anti inflammatory action seen in NSAIDs like ibuprofen, which makes it gentler on the stomach lining for most people.
Doctors in Pakistan often recommend Paracetamol 500mg as a first choice for mild pain and fever because it carries a lower risk of stomach irritation and bleeding compared to NSAIDs. It is considered a suitable option for patients who cannot tolerate NSAIDs, including many people with mild stomach sensitivity or controlled hypertension.
Correct dosing matters because Paracetamol is processed by the liver. Taking more than the recommended daily amount, or combining it with other Paracetamol containing products, raises the risk of liver strain. Patients with existing liver disease or regular alcohol use should ask a doctor before use.
