About Aireez Sachet 4mg
Aireez Sachet 4mg is montelukast oral granules for paediatric asthma and allergy control.
Aireez Sachet 4mg Uses
- Prevents asthma symptoms in children from one year of age who cannot take tablets.
- Reduces night waking, early morning cough and repeated wheezing episodes.
- Relieves sneezing, blocked nose and nasal itching from allergic rhinitis.
- Guards against exercise-induced wheeze in active toddlers and young children.
- Works alongside inhaled steroids when a mask and spacer alone are not enough.
- Offers a measured single dose for families who struggle with syrup measuring.
Aireez Sachet 4mg Benefits
- Fine granules that mix into a spoon of soft food, so no swallowing skill is needed.
- Each sachet holds one exact dose, which removes spoon and dropper measuring errors.
- Sealed foil packing travels well and needs no refrigeration or shaking.
- Chosen over a tablet when a child is under two or refuses to chew.
- One evening dose covers both nose and chest symptoms in allergic children.
- Steroid free control option that parents often accept more readily for daily use.
What Experts Say
Oral granules deliver the same 4 mg of montelukast as the chewable tablet, yet the presentation matters a great deal in the youngest patients. Approved dosing allows the granules from one year of age, while a chewable tablet is unsuitable until a child chews reliably, so the sachet closes a real gap in paediatric asthma care.
Absorption is rapid and is not meaningfully affected by food, which is why the granules may be given with a spoonful of soft food when a child refuses a plain dose. Pharmacists stress the fifteen minute window after opening, because the powder is not meant to stand in a mixture and the delivered dose becomes unreliable.
Physicians across Pakistan often choose the sachet during high pollen months and in small children with recurrent wheeze alongside allergic rhinitis. Review at two to four weeks looks at night waking, reliever use and any change in mood or sleep, and treatment is stopped when no clear benefit appears.
Drug Class

How to use Aireez Sachet 4mg?
- Give one sachet of 4 mg granules once daily, usually in the evening.

- Pour the granules straight into the mouth, or mix them into a spoon of soft food.
- Use only cold or room temperature apple sauce, mashed carrot, rice or ice cream as the carrier.
- Never dissolve the granules in milk, juice, tea or water, and never store a mixed dose.
- Give the full spoonful at once and do not save any leftover portion for later.
- Keep the reliever inhaler for sudden attacks, because these granules cannot stop one.
Drug Interactions
- Phenobarbital: Increases montelukast clearance and can blunt the asthma benefit.
- Phenytoin and carbamazepine: Enzyme induction may lower montelukast levels in treated children.
- Rifampicin: Reduces montelukast exposure during antitubercular treatment.
- Gemfibrozil: Raises montelukast blood levels and the chance of side effects.
- Oral corticosteroids: Tapering them too fast after starting the sachet can trigger a flare.
- Aspirin and NSAIDs: May still provoke bronchospasm in sensitive children.
Risks and warnings
- Mood and behaviour: Watch for nightmares, agitation, irritability or unusual crying and report them promptly.
- Not for acute attacks: The granules work slowly over days and cannot relieve breathlessness in the moment.
- Fifteen minute rule: A sachet left open or mixed too early may deliver an unreliable dose.
- Wrong carrier: Mixing into milk, juice or warm food can change how the granules are absorbed.
- Choking care: Give the dose with the child sitting upright and supervised throughout.
- Steroid tapering: Never lower inhaled or oral steroids without the treating doctor's instruction.
- Eosinophilic reactions: Rash, worsening breathing or numbness during steroid reduction needs urgent assessment.
- Liver impairment: Children with liver disease need medical supervision while on montelukast.
