How to use Airvent powder 4 mg?

• Give once daily in the evening.
• Give the granules directly in the mouth or mixed with a spoonful of soft food, not liquid.
• Use within 15 minutes of opening the sachet.
• Continue using it regularly for prevention, even when the child feels well.

Drug Interactions

Montelukast has few major interactions, but a couple are worth knowing.

• Phenobarbital or rifampicin: Can reduce montelukast levels and effectiveness.
• Other asthma medicines: Usually used alongside, not instead of, other prescribed asthma treatment.

Risks and warnings

• Mood or behaviour changes: Watch for agitation, sleep disturbance or mood changes and report them.
• Not for sudden attacks: Does not relieve an asthma attack already happening; use a rescue inhaler as prescribed for that.
• Regular use needed: Works best when given regularly, not just when symptoms occur.
• Missed doses: Do not double the dose if one is missed; continue the regular schedule.
