How to use Aminovel 600 Infusion?
- Aminovel 600 infusion is given into a vein by a doctor or trained nurse
- The drip rate is usually twenty to thirty drops per minute
- Elderly and seriously ill patients need a slower infusion rate
- Cloudy, discoloured or damaged bottles must never be used
- No medicine should be added to the bottle without pharmacist approval
- Any solution left in the bottle is discarded after a single use
Contraindications
- This medicine must not be used by patients in hepatic coma
- Patients with congestive heart failure or severe acidosis
- Known allergy to any ingredient in this infusion
- Not recommended for patients with hereditary fructose intolerance
Drug Interactions
- Calcium and phosphate together: crystals may form and travel to the lungs
- Phosphate in dilute mixtures: the solution may separate inside the bottle
