Rosuvastatin is a statin. It blocks HMG-CoA reductase, the liver enzyme needed to make cholesterol, so the liver removes more LDL from the blood. Rosuvastatin is one of the most potent statins and is commonly used in Pakistan, where high cholesterol and early heart disease are frequent concerns.

How to use Aurora tablet 10mg?

• Take Aurora Tablet once daily at the same time each day, with or without food.
• Swallow whole with water.
• Keep taking it even if you feel fine, since high cholesterol has no symptoms.
• Do not stop or change the dose without asking your doctor.

Drug Interactions

• Cyclosporine: Raises rosuvastatin levels sharply and raises muscle injury risk.
• Gemfibrozil and fenofibrate: Higher risk of muscle problems.
• Warfarin: Blood clotting checks may be needed.
• Antacids with aluminum or magnesium: Take them at least two hours after rosuvastatin.

Risks and warnings

• Muscle problems: Report unexplained muscle pain, weakness or dark urine. Rare muscle breakdown can occur.
• Liver: Liver enzymes may rise. Tests are checked as advised.
• Pregnancy: Not for use in pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
