About Avifix Tablet 10mg
Avifix Tablet 10mg relieves nausea, vomiting, and bloating by speeding up stomach emptying.
Uses
- Nausea and vomiting caused by illness, food poisoning, or digestive upset
- Slow stomach emptying that leads to bloating and early fullness after meals
- Nausea and vomiting linked to certain other medicines, including cancer treatment
Benefits
- Speeds up how fast the stomach empties food into the small intestine
- Controls the urge to vomit without causing the heavy drowsiness seen with older anti sickness tablets
- Stays mostly outside the brain, so it causes far fewer movement related side effects than similar drugs
- Works well alongside acidity or reflux treatment for combined stomach complaints
What Experts Say
Domperidone blocks dopamine receptors in the stomach wall and in the brain area that triggers vomiting. This tightens the valve between the food pipe and stomach and pushes food into the intestine faster. Gastroenterologists commonly recommend it for short courses of nausea, vomiting, and post meal bloating rather than long term daily use.
Cardiologists and drug safety bodies have flagged that domperidone can affect the heart rhythm at higher doses or in people with existing heart disease. For this reason experts advise the lowest effective dose for the shortest time needed, usually under two weeks, along with a review of other medicines a patient already takes.
People over sixty, those with kidney or liver disease, and patients on heart rhythm medicines need closer monitoring before starting this drug. Pharmacists routinely counsel patients to report palpitations, fainting, or chest discomfort right away and to avoid combining it with other drugs that also affect heart rhythm, including certain antifungal and antibiotic tablets.
Drug Class
