How to use Biforge Tablet 5mg/80mg ?
- Swallow the tablet whole with water
- Take at the same time each day, with or without food
- Continue taking it even if you feel well, since high blood pressure often has no symptoms
- Do not stop suddenly without asking a doctor
Contraindications
- Avoid in patients who are pregnant, especially in the second or third trimester
- Known allergy to amlodipine or valsartan rules out using this tablet
- Not suitable for patients with a history of angioedema from a similar medicine
- This medicine must not be used by patients with severe liver disease without medical advice
Drug Interactions
- ACE inhibitors: combining raises the risk of low blood pressure and kidney problems
- Potassium sparing diuretics or potassium supplements: combined use can raise blood potassium too high
- Lithium: this tablet can raise lithium levels in the blood
- NSAIDs such as ibuprofen: may reduce this tablet's blood pressure lowering effect
Risks and warnings
- Pregnancy: stop this tablet as soon as pregnancy is confirmed and contact a doctor
- Dehydration or heavy diuretic use: raises the risk of a sudden drop in blood pressure
- Kidney function: should be checked periodically during treatment
