What Experts Say
Celecoxib is a selective COX 2 inhibitor, a type of pain reliever built to lower stomach irritation compared with older nonsteroidal drugs. It reduces the chemical signals in the body that cause pain, swelling and joint stiffness. This selective action is what sets it apart from more traditional arthritis painkillers.
Osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis affect a large number of adults in Pakistan, many of whom struggle with daily joint pain and reduced mobility. Celecoxib gives longer term relief without the stomach burden that older painkillers often cause with regular use. It is often chosen for patients who also have a history of stomach ulcers or acidity.
Doctors still keep a close eye on heart health during long term treatment, since COX 2 inhibitors carry a small added cardiovascular risk. The lowest dose that controls symptoms is generally preferred for extended use. Regular blood pressure checks are recommended for patients using this capsule over many months.
