About Bosmon Tablet 62.5mg
Bosmon Tablet 62.5mg contains Bosentan, an endothelin receptor antagonist used for pulmonary hypertension.
Bosmon Tablet 62.5mg Uses
- Treats pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) to improve exercise capacity
- Slows clinical worsening of PAH symptoms over time
- Reduces the number of new digital ulcers in patients with systemic sclerosis
Benefits
- Widens narrowed pulmonary blood vessels by blocking endothelin receptors
- Lowers pulmonary vascular resistance and eases strain on the right side of the heart
- Helps many patients walk farther with less breathlessness during daily activities
What Experts Say
Pulmonologists and cardiologists prescribe Bosmon Tablet 62.5mg as a starting dose before stepping up to the standard 125mg maintenance dose after four weeks, provided liver enzyme tests stay within safe limits.
This gradual titration lowers the chance of sudden liver enzyme spikes, a known effect of Bosentan therapy that requires monthly blood monitoring throughout treatment. Doctors also stress strict contraception counseling for women of childbearing age, since Bosentan carries a serious risk of birth defects and pregnancy must be actively ruled out before and during treatment.
Specialists view Bosentan as a valuable oral option for pulmonary arterial hypertension because it lets many patients avoid or delay continuous intravenous therapy, which carries its own infection and catheter related risks. Physicians typically pair it with regular six minute walk tests to track whether exercise capacity is genuinely improving, adjusting the treatment plan if progress stalls.
