What Experts Say
Rheumatologists describe celecoxib as a selective COX-2 inhibitor, a class designed to block the enzyme responsible for pain and swelling while sparing the stomach lining more than older NSAIDs. This makes Cele Capsule 100mg a common choice for chronic joint conditions where long term NSAID use is needed.
Cardiologists caution that all COX-2 inhibitors, including celecoxib, carry a class warning for increased risk of heart attack and stroke, especially with higher doses or prolonged use. People with existing heart disease or high blood pressure are usually advised to use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible time.
Pharmacists point out that celecoxib should never be combined with other NSAIDs like ibuprofen or aspirin without medical advice, since this raises bleeding and kidney risk without adding extra pain relief. Taking the capsule with food is commonly recommended to reduce stomach discomfort.
Drug Class

- Stomach Bleeding: Risk increases with age, alcohol use, smoking and long term use, even though it is gentler than older NSAIDs
- Pregnancy: Avoid especially in the third trimester due to risk of harm to the unborn baby and complications during delivery
