How to use Cestonil Plus Syrup?
- Shake the bottle well before every use
- Cestonil Plus syrup can be taken with or without food
- The evening dose is best taken at bedtime to reduce daytime drowsiness
- This syrup must be taken regularly every day for it to work effectively
- The dose should always be tapered gradually before stopping; sudden discontinuation is not recommended
Contraindications
- Known allergy to pizotifen or any other ingredient in this syrup
- Narrow-angle glaucoma
- Gastric outlet obstruction (a blocked passage from the stomach)
- Difficulty urinating or urinary retention
- Children below 1 year of age
Drug Interactions
- Sleeping pills and sedatives: Cestonil Plus syrup increases drowsiness when combined with these medicines.
- Antihistamines: Taking antihistamines alongside this syrup may cause excessive sedation.
- Alcohol: Alcohol taken with this syrup can worsen dizziness and drowsiness significantly.
- Cisapride: This combination may reduce the effectiveness of Cestonil Plus syrup.
- Glucuronidation-dependent medicines: Increased pizotifen levels are possible when taken with certain medicines metabolized in the same way.
