About Cis-Curon Iv Injection 5ml
A hospital-only anesthesia injection that produces short-term muscle relaxation during surgery.
Cis-Curon Injection Uses
- Muscle relaxation during general anesthesia
- Facilitating endotracheal intubation before surgery
- Maintaining paralysis during mechanical ventilation
- Supporting surgical procedures needing deep muscle relaxation
Cis-Curon Injection Benefits
- Predictable onset and recovery in the operating room
- Clearance independent of liver or kidney function through Hofmann elimination
- Stable option for patients with organ impairment under anesthesia care
Anesthesiologists in hospitals across Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad and Rawalpindi use Cis-Curon Injection routinely for major surgeries and intensive care ventilation.
Cisatracurium blocks acetylcholine receptors at the neuromuscular junction. This stops nerve signals from reaching skeletal muscles, causing temporary paralysis.
Only trained anesthesia staff give this injection with constant monitoring of breathing and vital signs. It is never used outside a hospital or self-administered.

How to use Cis-Curon Iv Injection 5ml?
- Cis-Curon Injection is given only by an anesthesiologist or trained hospital staff through an IV line.
- It is never self-administered or used outside a hospital or operating room setting.
- Dose is calculated by body weight and adjusted during surgery as needed.
- Patients remain on a ventilator since the drug can paralyze breathing muscles.
- Continuous monitoring of heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen levels is required throughout use.
Drug Interactions
- Volatile Anesthetics: Agents like sevoflurane and isoflurane strengthen and prolong the muscle blocking effect.
- Aminoglycoside Antibiotics: Drugs like gentamicin can enhance neuromuscular blockade and delay recovery.
- Magnesium Sulfate: Used in eclampsia treatment, it can significantly prolong paralysis.
- Other Muscle Relaxants: Combining with similar agents needs careful dose adjustment by the anesthesia team.
Risks and warnings
- Respiratory Paralysis: This drug paralyzes breathing muscles, so mechanical ventilation is mandatory until recovery.
- Hospital Use Only: Never administered outside a hospital or by anyone other than trained anesthesia staff.
- Awareness Risk: The patient stays fully paralyzed but conscious unless adequate anesthesia and sedation are given alongside it.
- Allergic Reactions: Rare but serious histamine release reactions can cause flushing, low blood pressure or bronchospasm.
- Electrolyte Sensitivity: Low potassium, low calcium or high magnesium levels can prolong the muscle blocking effect.
- Myasthenia Gravis: Patients with this condition need much lower doses and extra caution.
Side Effects
- Low blood pressure
- Flushing of the skin
- Slow or fast heart rate
- Bronchospasm in sensitive patients
- Prolonged muscle weakness after surgery
- Injection site reaction
