Drug Interactions

• MAO inhibitors: Using them together or within 14 days of each other can cause serotonin syndrome and is not allowed.
• Tramadol, triptans and linezolid: These can raise serotonin levels and increase the risk of serotonin syndrome.
• NSAIDs, aspirin and warfarin: These increase the chance of bleeding when combined with escitalopram.
• Omeprazole and cimetidine: These can raise escitalopram blood levels, so a lower dose may be needed.
