Crolimus Ointment Uses

• Treats moderate to severe atopic dermatitis (eczema)
• Used when other eczema treatments have not worked well
• Reduces skin inflammation, redness and itching from eczema
• Used in adults and children above 2 years as directed

• Ointment 0.03% (10g)
• Ointment 0.1% (30g)

How to use Crolimus Ointment 0.1%?

• Clean and dry the affected area before applying
• Apply a thin layer and rub in gently
• Avoid covering the treated area with an airtight dressing
• Wash your hands after application unless treating the hands

Contraindications

• Avoid in patients with a known allergy to tacrolimus or macrolide antibiotics
• Should not be applied over active viral infections such as herpes or chickenpox
• Not suitable for use on untreated bacterial or fungal skin infections
• Not recommended for children under 2 years of age

Drug Interactions

• Phototherapy or UV light treatment: combined use may increase the risk of skin irritation and sun sensitivity
• Other topical products on the same area: avoid layering with strong exfoliants or irritant skin products

Risks and warnings

• Sun exposure: use sunscreen and limit strong sunlight, since this ointment can increase photosensitivity
• Skin cancer or lymphoma history: use only under close medical supervision
• Prolonged or widespread use: have your skin reviewed periodically by a doctor
• Burning or stinging on application: this is common in the first few days and usually eases with continued use
