How to use Danocrine capsule 100mg?
- Take exactly as the doctor has prescribed, usually twice daily with food
- Swallow the capsule whole with a full glass of water
- Start treatment during menstruation on the doctor's instruction to rule out pregnancy first
- Continue the full course length even if symptoms improve early
- Do not stop the medicine suddenly without medical advice
Drug Interactions
- Warfarin: Danazol can strengthen the blood thinning effect and raise bleeding risk.
- Carbamazepine: Blood levels of carbamazepine can rise, increasing toxicity risk.
- Insulin and oral diabetes medicines: Blood sugar control may need closer monitoring.
- Cyclosporine: Danazol can raise cyclosporine levels and add to kidney strain.
- Statins: The risk of muscle related side effects can increase with combined use.
Risks and warnings
- Pregnancy: Danazol can cause birth defects and must never be used during pregnancy.
- Liver function: Regular liver tests are needed since danazol can affect liver enzymes.
- Undiagnosed vaginal bleeding: Treatment should not start until the cause is confirmed.
- Virilizing effects: Voice deepening or excess hair growth may not fully reverse if treatment continues too long.
