How to use Delanzo Capsule DDR 30mg?
- Swallow the capsule whole with water
- Can be taken with or without food
- May be opened and sprinkled on soft food if swallowing whole is difficult
- Take at the same time each day
Contraindications
- Known allergy to dexlansoprazole or similar PPIs rules out its use
- This medicine must not be used with atazanavir or nelfinavir
- Not suitable for patients with a fructose or galactose intolerance
- Avoid in patients with severe liver impairment without medical advice
Drug Interactions
- Atazanavir and nelfinavir: this capsule significantly lowers their levels and should not be combined
- High dose methotrexate: this capsule may raise methotrexate levels and prolong them in the body
- Tacrolimus: this capsule may raise tacrolimus levels and needs monitoring
Risks and warnings
- Long term use: may lower vitamin B12 and magnesium levels, so periodic checks help
- Bone health: high dose, long term use may raise the risk of fractures
