About Dinemic SR Tablet 35mg
Dinemic SR Tablet 35mg contains trimetazidine, a metabolic anti anginal used for chronic stable angina.
Dinemic SR Tablet 35mg Uses
- Add on treatment for long term management of stable angina pectoris
- Used when first line anti anginal medicines like beta blockers or calcium channel blockers do not control symptoms fully
- Used in patients who cannot tolerate the standard first line anti anginal drugs
- Helps reduce how often angina episodes occur over time
Dinemic SR Tablet 35mg Benefits
- Improves the heart muscle's ability to use oxygen efficiently when blood flow is reduced
- Does not lower blood pressure or slow the heart rate, so it can be added safely to existing heart medicines
- Sustained release formula allows steady drug levels with twice daily dosing
- May improve exercise tolerance in people living with chronic angina
What Experts Say
Trimetazidine works differently from most anti anginal drugs. It does not widen blood vessels, lower blood pressure or slow the heart rate. Instead it acts inside the heart muscle cell, shifting energy production away from fatty acid oxidation toward glucose metabolism, a pathway that needs less oxygen for the same output during ischemia.
Because of this mechanism, cardiologists prescribe it only as add on therapy, layered on top of a beta blocker, calcium channel blocker or nitrate, never as a first choice on its own. Its benefit builds gradually rather than acting within minutes like a nitrate, so doctors typically reassess symptom control after about three months and stop it if angina has not improved.
Regulators tightened its approved use after data linked long term therapy to parkinsonian symptoms, tremor and gait instability, mainly in older adults with reduced kidney clearance. Physicians screen for existing movement disorders before starting treatment, lower the dose once kidney function declines, and withdraw the drug permanently if tremor or unsteady walking develop.
