How to use Easehale Respules 0.025% 2ml?
- The solution is for nebuliser use only and must never be swallowed or injected
- The full contents of one respule should be squeezed into the nebuliser chamber
- Breathe calmly and deeply through the mouthpiece until the mist stops, about 5 to 15 minutes
- A mouthpiece is preferred over a mask, which may let mist reach the eyes
- The nebuliser should be cleaned after each use, and any leftover solution discarded
Contraindications
- Should not be used by patients allergic to ipratropium, atropine, or similar medicines
- Should not be used by patients allergic to any ingredient in the solution
- Should not be relied on alone for a sudden severe breathing attack
- Should not be given to children without medical advice
Risks and warnings
- Protect your eyes: as mist in the eyes may cause blurred vision or eye pain, especially in narrow-angle glaucoma
- Use with caution: if you have an enlarged prostate or difficulty passing urine, since ipratropium may worsen this
- Use with caution: if you have cystic fibrosis, as bowel movements and mucus may be affected
- Use with caution: if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and use it only when your doctor advises
- Seek urgent help: if breathing gets worse right after a dose, as sudden airway tightening can occasionally occur
- Tell your doctor about other medicines: as other anticholinergic drugs may add to dry mouth and urinary problems
- Do not exceed the recommended dose: as an overdose may cause dry mouth, blurred vision and a fast heartbeat
