Econaphen G Cream combines an antifungal, steroid and antibiotic for infected fungal skin. Applied twice daily.

How to use Econaphen G Cream?
- Clean and dry the affected area before applying
- Apply a thin film and rub in gently
- Wash hands after application unless the hands are being treated
- Do not cover with an airtight dressing unless the physician advises it
Contraindications
- Should not be applied by patients with an untreated viral skin infection such as herpes
- Not suitable for unsupervised use in children under 6 years of age
- Contraindicated in patients with a known allergy to econazole, triamcinolone or gentamicin
- Avoid on open wounds or broken skin beyond what the antibiotic component can cover
Risks and warnings
- Prolonged use: increases the risk of skin thinning and stretch marks from the steroid component
- Large body surface area: raises the risk of the steroid and antibiotic being absorbed into the bloodstream
- No improvement after 2 weeks: should prompt a review with the physician rather than continued use
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women: should use this cream only if the physician advises it
