Drug Interactions

Citalopram can interact seriously with several medicines.

• MAOIs: Must not be combined; risk of a dangerous reaction.
• Tramadol and other serotonergic medicines: Raises the risk of serotonin syndrome.
• Other medicines affecting heart rhythm: Adds to the risk of an abnormal rhythm.
• NSAIDs or aspirin: May increase the risk of bleeding when combined.
