How to use Evastel tablet 20mg?

• Adults and children 12 years and above: 10 mg to 20 mg once daily as prescribed.
• Children 6 to 11 years: a lower dose is used, only as advised by the doctor.
• Swallow the Evastel tablet whole with water, with or without food, at the same time each day.
• Do not exceed the prescribed dose, and do not use for longer than advised.

Drug Interactions

• Ketoconazole and itraconazole: These antifungals raise ebastine levels and may increase the risk of heart rhythm changes.
• Erythromycin and clarithromycin: These macrolide antibiotics can raise ebastine levels and prolong the QT interval.
• Rifampicin: It can lower ebastine levels and reduce the effect of the tablet.
• Alcohol and sedatives: They may add to drowsiness.

Risks and warnings

• QT interval: Ebastine may affect heart rhythm, so people with long QT syndrome or low potassium should avoid it unless a doctor advises.
