Feldene Tablet Dispersible 20mg Uses

• Pain and swelling from osteoarthritis
• Pain and stiffness from rheumatoid arthritis
• Joint stiffness and pain in ankylosing spondylitis
• Short-term relief of pain from muscle and joint injuries
• Prescription medicine, to be used only as advised by a doctor

How to use Feldene Tablet Dispersible 20mg?

• The tablet should be dispersed in a glass of water and drunk once dissolved
• It is best taken with or just after food or milk
• It is usually taken at the same time each day
• Alternatively, the tablet may be swallowed whole with water, as directed on the label

Contraindications

• Should not be used by patients allergic to piroxicam, aspirin, or other NSAIDs
• Should not be used with an active stomach ulcer or a history of stomach bleeding
• Should not be used before or after heart bypass surgery
• Should not be used in severe heart, liver or kidney failure
• Should not be used in the last three months of pregnancy

Risks and warnings

• Do not exceed the recommended dose: as higher doses raise stomach bleeding risk, and an overdose may cause nausea, stomach pain and black stools
• Use with caution: if you have heart disease, high blood pressure or a past stroke, as NSAIDs may raise heart attack and stroke risk
• Use with caution: if you have asthma, kidney or liver disease, or are elderly, as closer monitoring may be needed
• Use with caution: if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, and use it only when your doctor advises
• Avoid other NSAIDs or aspirin: unless your doctor advises, as combining them raises the risk of stomach bleeding
• Tell your doctor about blood thinners, steroids, lithium or antidepressants: as piroxicam may raise bleeding risk or change their levels
• Avoid or limit alcohol: as it may irritate the stomach and add to the bleeding risk

• Indigestion, heartburn, nausea, or stomach pain
• Loss of appetite, constipation or diarrhoea
• Headache or dizziness
• Rash or itching
• Rare black stools or vomiting blood, needing urgent medical help
• Rare chest pain, breathlessness or sudden weakness on one side
• Rare severe skin reactions, or yellowing of the skin or eyes

Storage Conditions

• Store at room temperature, away from moisture and heat
• Protect from direct sunlight
• Keep in the original strip until use
• Keep out of reach of children
