Flamot contains meloxicam 7.5mg, a nonsteroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID). It blocks enzymes called COX that make prostaglandins, the chemicals behind pain, swelling and inflammation. It is usually prescribed for long standing joint conditions, so regular review with the doctor is helpful.

Doctors prescribe it for osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, usually at the lowest dose for the shortest time needed. Because it has a longer action, one tablet a day is typically enough. Report any black stools, stomach pain, swelling or shortness of breath to the doctor without delay.

Like other NSAIDs, it can irritate the stomach, raise blood pressure, and affect the kidneys and heart with long use. How to use Flamot tablet 7.5mg?

• Take Flamot once a day with food or after a meal, as prescribed.

• Do not take other pain relievers such as ibuprofen, diclofenac or aspirin with it unless advised.

Drug Interactions

• Warfarin and blood thinners: Raises the risk of bleeding.
• Other NSAIDs and aspirin: Increase the risk of stomach ulcers and bleeding.
• ACE inhibitors, ARBs and diuretics: May reduce their effect and strain the kidneys.
• Lithium and methotrexate: Meloxicam can raise their levels in the blood.
