What Experts Say
Fluorometholone, the steroid in Flurone drops, is often chosen by eye specialists because it is milder than many other corticosteroid eye drops while still controlling inflammation effectively. This makes it a common choice for allergic eye conditions and after certain eye procedures.
Ophthalmologists in Pakistan frequently prescribe it for patients with seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, which is common during pollen season and periods of high pollution in cities like Lahore and Karachi. It helps calm redness, itching, and swelling of the eye surface.
Because steroid eye drops can raise eye pressure or mask an underlying infection if misused, experts stress using Flurone strictly as prescribed and attending follow up checkups, especially with prolonged use.
