How to use Getzid MR 60 Tablet?

• Swallow the tablet whole with breakfast
• Do not crush, split or chew, since this is a modified-release tablet
• Take at the same time each day
• Do not skip a meal after taking this tablet

Contraindications

• People diagnosed with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis should not take this tablet
• Contraindicated in patients with a known allergy to gliclazide or other sulfonylureas
• Not suitable for patients with severe liver or kidney impairment
• Avoid in pregnant or breastfeeding women

Drug Interactions

• Miconazole, oral or gel form: can dangerously increase the blood-sugar-lowering effect and raise the risk of severe hypoglycemia
• Beta blockers: can mask the warning signs of low blood sugar
• NSAIDs such as ibuprofen: can increase the blood-sugar-lowering effect
• Alcohol: can increase the risk of low blood sugar and should be limited
