About Gyno Tablet 500mg
Gyno Tablet 500mg contains Clotrimazole, an antifungal used for single dose treatment of vaginal yeast infections.
Gyno Tablet 500mg Uses
- Treats vaginal yeast infections (vulvovaginal candidiasis) caused by Candida albicans
- Relieves itching, burning, redness, and discharge linked to vaginal fungal infections
- Used as a single dose treatment for uncomplicated vaginal candidiasis
Gyno Tablet 500mg Benefits
- One time insertion completes the full treatment course
- Fast acting antifungal action at the site of infection
- Lowers the risk of missed doses compared to multi day regimens
- Well tolerated with minimal absorption into the bloodstream
What Experts Say
Clotrimazole disrupts the fungal cell membrane, causing leakage of essential contents and death of the Candida organism. Gynecologists commonly recommend it as a first line topical treatment for uncomplicated vaginal candidiasis since it acts directly at the infection site with very limited absorption into the bloodstream.
The 500mg single dose formulation improves treatment adherence. Multi day regimens using 100mg tablets inserted over three to seven nights carry a higher risk of incomplete courses once symptoms ease. A single 500mg tablet delivers an equivalent antifungal exposure in one insertion, which doctors favor for patients unlikely to finish a longer course.
Doctors advise completing the course even if symptoms resolve within a day, since stopping early can allow residual fungal cells to cause relapse. Women with diabetes, recurrent infections, or symptoms lasting beyond a week are usually advised to seek further evaluation for an underlying cause or oral antifungal therapy.

Drug Interactions
- Other Vaginal Products: Avoid using other vaginal creams, douches, or tablets at the same time unless a doctor advises it.
- Latex Condoms and Diaphragms: The tablet base can weaken latex, reducing contraceptive and barrier protection during and shortly after treatment.
- Oral Antifungals: Combining with oral azole antifungals is usually unnecessary and should only be done under medical supervision.
- Tacrolimus (Topical): Concurrent use near the treated area may increase local irritation.
Risks and warnings
- Vaginal Use Only: Gyno Tablet 500mg is for vaginal insertion only, never swallow it or apply it to broken skin.
- Pregnancy: Use only after consulting a doctor, especially during the first trimester, and insert by hand rather than the applicator if advised.
- Menstruation: Avoid inserting during a period, complete the course before or after menstrual bleeding for best absorption.
- Allergy: Stop use and see a doctor if burning, swelling, or rash worsens instead of improving.
- Recurrent Infections: Women with diabetes or frequent yeast infections should get medically evaluated rather than repeatedly self treating.
- Intercourse: Avoid sexual intercourse during treatment since the tablet base can weaken condoms and diaphragms.
