Uses of Healer Capsule 20 mg

Healer Capsule 20mg is prescribed for conditions where excess stomach acid causes discomfort or tissue damage. Your doctor may prescribe it for:

  • Acidity and Heartburn
Healer Capsule reduces the acid responsible for burning sensations in the chest and throat. It provides relief from persistent heartburn and acid regurgitation.

  • Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD)
In GERD, stomach acid repeatedly flows back into the food pipe, causing irritation and damage. Healer Capsule reduces this acid and allows the esophageal lining to recover.

  • Gastric and Duodenal Ulcers
Stomach and upper small intestine ulcers are often worsened by excess acid. Healer Capsule reduces acid levels, allowing ulcers to heal. A standard course is 4 weeks for duodenal ulcers and 8 weeks for gastric ulcers.

  • Erosive Esophagitis
This condition involves inflammation and erosion of the esophagus caused by chronic acid exposure. Healer Capsule reduces acid and helps the damaged tissue repair itself.

  • Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome
This rare condition causes the stomach to produce abnormally large amounts of acid. Healer Capsule is used at higher doses to control acid levels in these patients.

  • H. pylori Infection
Healer Capsule is used as part of a combination therapy with antibiotics such as Amoxicillin and Clarithromycin to eradicate H. pylori bacteria responsible for peptic ulcers.

  • NSAID-Associated Ulcers
Patients who take long-term pain medicines such as Ibuprofen or Diclofenac are at risk of developing stomach ulcers. Healer Capsule is prescribed alongside these medicines for protection.

Drug Interactions

Healer Capsule 20mg may interact with the following medicines. Inform your doctor about all medicines, supplements, and herbal products you are currently taking.

  • Clopidogrel: Omeprazole reduces the conversion of Clopidogrel to its active form, weakening its blood-thinning effect. This combination is generally avoided.
  • Warfarin: Omeprazole can increase the anticoagulant effect of Warfarin, raising the risk of bleeding. Regular INR monitoring is recommended.
  • Diazepam: Omeprazole slows the breakdown of Diazepam in the liver, increasing its sedative effect. A dose adjustment may be needed.
  • Phenytoin: Omeprazole may increase Phenytoin blood levels, raising the risk of toxicity. Blood level monitoring is required.
  • Methotrexate: High-dose Methotrexate combined with Omeprazole may increase Methotrexate levels and toxicity risk.
  • Ketoconazole and Itraconazole: Reduced stomach acid lowers the absorption of these antifungal medicines, making them less effective.
  • Atazanavir: Omeprazole significantly reduces Atazanavir absorption. This combination should generally be avoided.
  • Tacrolimus: Omeprazole increases Tacrolimus blood levels, raising the risk of kidney-related side effects. Close monitoring is required.
  • Clarithromycin: When used together, blood levels of both Omeprazole and Clarithromycin increase. This interaction is useful and intentional during H. pylori treatment.
  • Sucralfate: Omeprazole may reduce the absorption of Sucralfate. These medicines should be taken at least 30 minutes apart.
  • St. John's Wort: This herbal supplement can reduce Omeprazole levels in the blood, lowering its effectiveness.
  • Cilostazol: Omeprazole may increase Cilostazol concentration, potentially intensifying its effects and side effects.
