Hixib tablet is a COX-2 inhibitor that relieves joint pain and inflammation by blocking prostaglandin production.

How to use Hixib Tablet 60 mg?
- Hixib tablet can be taken with or without food
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water
- A fixed daily time is best for consistent results
- No dose adjustment is needed for elderly patients, but close monitoring is advised
- Patients with mild liver problems should not exceed 60mg per day
Contraindications
- Known allergy to etoricoxib or any NSAID
- Active or history of stomach ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding
- Severe kidney disease (creatinine clearance below 30 mL/min)
- Severe liver disease or liver failure
- History of heart failure, stroke, or coronary artery disease
- Pregnancy, particularly in the third trimester
- Patients under 18 years of age
- Inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis
Drug Interactions
- Warfarin and other blood thinners: Hixib tablets may increase bleeding risk when taken together.
- ACE inhibitors and ARBs: Medicines like enalapril and losartan may become less effective.
- Diuretics: Hixib tablets can reduce the effect of water tablets and increase the risk of kidney problems.
- Other NSAIDs and aspirin: Combining these raises the risk of stomach bleeding and ulcers.
- Corticosteroids: Taking both together further increases the chance of gastrointestinal bleeding.
- Oral contraceptives: Etoricoxib may increase estrogen levels when taken with hormone-based contraceptives.
- Rifampicin: This antibiotic may reduce the effectiveness of Hixib tablets significantly.
