Hixib Tablet Uses

How to use Hixib Tablet 60 mg?

• Hixib tablet can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water
• A fixed daily time is best for consistent results
• No dose adjustment is needed for elderly patients, but close monitoring is advised
• Patients with mild liver problems should not exceed 60mg per day

Contraindications

• Known allergy to etoricoxib or any NSAID
• Active or history of stomach ulcers or gastrointestinal bleeding
• Severe kidney disease (creatinine clearance below 30 mL/min)
• Severe liver disease or liver failure
• History of heart failure, stroke, or coronary artery disease
• Pregnancy, particularly in the third trimester
• Patients under 18 years of age
• Inflammatory bowel disease, including Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis

Drug Interactions

• Warfarin and other blood thinners: Hixib tablets may increase bleeding risk when taken together.
• ACE inhibitors and ARBs: Medicines like enalapril and losartan may become less effective.
• Diuretics: Hixib tablets can reduce the effect of water tablets and increase the risk of kidney problems.
• Other NSAIDs and aspirin: Combining these raises the risk of stomach bleeding and ulcers.
• Corticosteroids: Taking both together further increases the chance of gastrointestinal bleeding.
• Oral contraceptives: Etoricoxib may increase estrogen levels when taken with hormone-based contraceptives.
• Rifampicin: This antibiotic may reduce the effectiveness of Hixib tablets significantly.
