How to use Imigran Tablet 100mg?

• Take one tablet as soon as migraine symptoms begin.
• Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water.
• If symptoms return, a second dose may be taken after at least two hours.
• Do not take more than two doses, that is 200mg, in twenty four hours.
• Do not use this medicine to prevent a migraine before it starts.

Drug Interactions

• MAO inhibitors: Can raise sumatriptan levels and increase side effect risk, avoid using within two weeks of an MAOI.
• SSRIs and SNRIs: Combined use may raise the risk of serotonin syndrome.
• Ergotamine medicines: Should not be used within twenty four hours of this tablet due to prolonged blood vessel narrowing.
• Other triptans: Avoid combining with other migraine triptans within twenty four hours.
• St John's Wort: May increase the risk of serotonin related side effects.

Risks and warnings

• Heart disease: Avoid if you have coronary artery disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure or a history of heart attack.
