Contraindications
- Those with a history of allergic reactions to L-Ornithine, L-Aspartate, or any component of this injection
- Should not be taken by patients with severe kidney disease due to the risk of worsening renal function
- Not suitable for patients with hereditary metabolic conditions such as urea cycle disorders or maple syrup urine disease
- People diagnosed with hereditary fructose intolerance must not receive this injection.
Drug Interactions
- Lactulose: combining with Levijon injection may have additive ammonia-lowering effects; dosage monitoring is required
- Rifaximin: used together in hepatic encephalopathy management; monitoring for response and side effects is advised
- Corticosteroids (e.g. prednisolone, hydrocortisone): may reduce the effectiveness of Levijon injection in managing ammonia levels
