What Experts Say
Cranberry proanthocyanidins are believed to reduce the ability of uropathogenic bacteria, particularly E. coli, to adhere to the uroepithelial lining. This is why cranberry nutraceuticals like Lian are used as adjunct support in recurrent UTI care, not as a replacement for antibiotics in active infection.
Salvia officinalis extract contributes mild anti inflammatory and antioxidant activity, which may help ease irritative bladder symptoms such as urgency and burning during voiding. Vitamin C works synergistically by acidifying urine, creating conditions less favourable for bacterial growth, and supporting immune competence in patients with frequent infections.
Clinicians often recommend this supplement class for patients with a history of recurrent, uncomplicated UTIs as a preventive adjunct, with dosing individualised by age and renal function. Pakistan carries a high burden of undertreated recurrent UTIs, particularly among women, supporting demand for accessible non prescription preventive options.
