Drug Interactions

• Alcohol: Causes flushing, nausea and rapid heartbeat when combined with metronidazole.
• Warfarin: May increase bleeding risk by enhancing the blood thinning effect.
• Lithium: Can raise lithium levels in the blood and increase toxicity risk.
• Phenytoin or Phenobarbital: May speed up metronidazole breakdown and reduce its effect.
