How to use Migril tablet?
- Take at the very first sign of a migraine attack for the best effect
- Do not exceed the maximum number of tablets allowed per attack as prescribed
- Do not exceed the maximum weekly dose set by your doctor
- Leave adequate gaps between treated attacks, do not use on consecutive days
- Swallow the tablet with water, it can be taken with or without food
Drug Interactions
- Triptans: Combining with sumatriptan or similar drugs raises the risk of severe vasoconstriction, leave a gap of at least 24 hours.
- Macrolide antibiotics: Erythromycin and related antibiotics raise ergotamine levels and increase ergotism risk.
- Other vasoconstrictors: Decongestants and beta blockers can add to the blood vessel narrowing effect.
- Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors: Certain antifungal and antiviral medicines can raise ergotamine blood levels significantly.
Risks and warnings
- Ergotism: Overuse or frequent dosing can severely narrow blood vessels and reduce blood flow to fingers, toes and other organs.
