Mirabet tablet may be prescribed for: Mirabegron, the active compound in Mirabet, belongs to the beta-3 adrenergic agonist class of medicines. It selectively activates beta-3 adrenergic receptors found in the detrusor muscle of the bladder. This activation causes the muscle to relax during the filling phase of the bladder cycle. Unlike older antimuscarinic medicines used for overactive bladder, Mirabet works through a different mechanism. This makes it a suitable alternative for patients who cannot tolerate antimuscarinics or have not responded to them. Clinical trials have shown that Mirabet reduces the number of daily urinations and incontinence episodes compared to placebo. Mirabegron is absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract and reaches peak blood concentrations within approximately one to three hours. It is processed by the liver and excreted primarily through urine, with a half-life of around 50 hours. If a dose of Mirabet is missed, it should be taken as soon as it is remembered. However, if more than 12 hours have passed since the scheduled dose, the missed dose should be skipped. The next dose should be taken at the regular time. Double doses should not be taken to compensate for a missed one. In cases of suspected Mirabet overdose, medical attention should be sought immediately. An overdose may cause elevated blood pressure, a rapid heart rate, and palpitations. There is no specific antidote, and management is supportive. Blood pressure, pulse rate, and heart rhythm should be monitored by a healthcare provider. Patients may begin to notice some improvement in bladder symptoms within a few weeks of starting Mirabet. The full benefit of treatment is usually seen after four to eight weeks of consistent use. Individual response may vary, and a doctor should be consulted if no improvement is observed. Periodic blood pressure monitoring is recommended during Mirabet treatment, as this medicine can cause a modest increase in blood pressure. Patients with pre-existing hypertension should be monitored more closely. Blood levels of certain co-administered medicines may also need to be checked.Mirabet Tablet Uses
