How to use Modrin Tablet 10mg?

• Modrin tablet can be taken with or without food
• Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water, without crushing or chewing.
• Complete the full prescribed course even if mood begins to improve early
• Do not stop this medicine suddenly without consulting your doctor first

Contraindications

• Known allergy to Nortriptyline, Fluphenazine, or any ingredient in the tablet
• Recent use of MAO inhibitors within the past 14 days
• Severe heart disease or a history of irregular heartbeat
• History of bone marrow depression or blood disorders
• Patients currently taking linezolid or intravenous methylene blue

Drug Interactions

• MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, tranylcypromine): a dangerous reaction can occur, including high fever and seizures
• Fluoxetine and other SSRIs: may increase the risk of serotonin syndrome when combined with Nortriptyline
• Alcohol: increases sedation and slows mental alertness significantly
• Antihypertensives (blood pressure medicines): Fluphenazine can lower blood pressure further, increasing dizziness on standing
• Antiepileptics (e.g., carbamazepine): may reduce the effectiveness of Nortriptyline in the body
